Ok, so whoever said running was fun?!? Especially after being sore all freakin' day! HA HA! Not to be discouraged...I knew today was an "easy" day according to my training schedule...so I did take it easy with some light weights (upper body workout, esp since my legs are a little sore) and yoga to stretch the tight muscles in my legs and back.
As the day progressed it felt like I was getting tighter and tighter with every step. It was almost unbearable by the time I left work. But I knew that once I was home and kids were fed, washed and put to bed I could do some yoga to stretch...and boy does it make a world of difference.
Moondoonie - I'm so glad you got out there and did 1.6 miles. YEAH YOU! Don't you feel great? Another thing that motivates me is writing about it. How fab would I feel if I said, "today's schedule was to do 3 miles, but I only did 1." Not so great. So when I hit that 1 mile marker I think, I have to make it to 3 so I can at least report back that I did the mileage. And another thing I noticed for me persoally, is that after mile 2 it gets easier...it might be a different distance for everyone, but for me it's mile 2...once I pass that, I feel like I know I can do that next 1 or 2 miles. It's not how fast you go...it really is going the distance - walk it if you have to, who cares?! Your speed will increase with time. Your distance too. Patience, perseverance, confidence...I know we can do it!!
Lesson for the day...STRETCH!
Added to my Favorite Things...YOGA...such a good way to stretch and stay limber - getting ready for those long runs
Tuesday - 3 mile run
Happy running :)

I'm concerned that as the miles increase, I'll struggle. Not because I can't do it but time is always a challenge. One option for me is to get up and work out early in the morning. Evenings are tough and during work, time is limited. Suggestions are welcome!
